The state Department of Justice is moving forward with enforcement of a 2016 gun control law despite a recent ruling from a federal judge that parts of it are unconstitutional.
Attorney General Xavier Becerra said Tuesday his office was ready to "do its part" in enforcing the element of Proposition 63 requiring background checks for ammunition purchases and transfers, scheduled to go into effect July 1.
