The Assembly on Monday unanimously approved a bill to bar civil damage awards from considering a plaintiff’s race, ethnicity and gender.
The proposed law authored by Senate Majority Leader Robert Hertzberg, D-Van Nuys, now moves to the full Senate. Hertzberg introduced it as SB 41 last December with sponsorship from the Consumer Attorneys of California.
