El Dorado defender settles case, 3 more suits are pending

Plaintiff Todd E. Jones had claimed Public Defender Teri M. Monterosso discriminated against male attorneys and retaliated against anyone who questioned what he characterized as mismanagement of the office.

SACRAMENTO -- A former El Dorado deputy public defender agreed to settle his discrimination and wrongful termination case Friday, bringing an abrupt end to a week-long trial, but three women employees of the office also have cases awaiting trial.
