Bar says leaked topics didn’t impact July pass rate jump

The pass rate on July's California bar exam was 23% higher than a year ago, but the State Bar said the much-improved result was not caused by the agency providing applicants with the test topics ahead of time.

The pass rate on July's California bar exam was 23% higher than a year ago, but the State Bar said the much-improved result was not caused by the agency providing applicants with the test topics ahead of time.

The bar reported Friday that 50.1% of test-takers passed the exam, which was a sizable increase from the record-low 40.7% success rate on the July 2018 licensing test, though roughly the same outcome as two years ago.
