Modoc County judge admonished for not disclosing relationship with attorney

The Commission on Judicial Performance publicly admonished Modoc County Superior Court Judge David A. Mason on Tuesday, after finding he should have disclosed a close personal relationship with an attorney who had dozens of matters before him.

The Commission on Judicial Performance publicly admonished Modoc County Superior Court Judge David A. Mason on Tuesday, after finding he should have disclosed a close personal relationship with an attorney who had dozens of matters before him.

Mason failed to disclose on the record his close friendship with attorney Tom Gifford of Modoc County who had appeared in his courtroom on numerous occasions, the commission found.
