Former San Francisco District Attorney and county Supervisor Terence Hallinan died Friday. He was 83 years old.

Hallinan was DA from 1996 to 2004, when he was succeeded by Kamala Harris. Earlier, he served two terms on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, starting in 1988.
