Sanctions sought against governor over redacted clemency records
The First Amendment Coalition asked the state Supreme Court to issue sanctions against Gov. Gavin Newsom Wednesday, citing his refusal to hand over clemency records without redacting “broad categories of information.” The filings also asked for oral arguments on the governor’s obligation to reveal clemency records.
