James P. Fox
James P. Fox, the longtime San Mateo County district attorney and former State Bar president who died earlier this month, was remembered for his warmth and problem-solving skills. He was 75.
Fox’s illness came on suddenly — according to Stephen M. “Steve” Wagstaffe, his longtime second-in-command and successor as district attorney — and he died of organ failure on Jan. 9. A funeral mass was held last week.
