Candidates for 9 LA judge seats give their pitches at forum
Sixteen of the 23 candidates running for nine open judge seats gave their pitches without debating each other in an event moderated by retired U.S. District Judge Robert C. Bonner.
HACIENDA HEIGHTS — One by one, the candidates took to the podium and gave their hard sells.
“I started working at the age of 9,” said Troy Slaten, a private attorney and former child actor running for a judge. He touted endorsements from daytime television celebrities Nancy Grace and Dr. Drew.
