Supreme Court creates task force to counter racial bias in jury selection

A special task force will soon convene to consider potential measures to counteract racial bias in criminal jury selection, the state Supreme Court announced Wednesday.

A special task force will soon convene to consider potential measures to counteract racial bias in criminal jury selection, the state Supreme Court announced Wednesday.

The court's news release declares the creation of the California Jury Selection Work Group, which will evaluate the sufficiency of existing jurisprudential guardrails designed to protect criminal defendants and jurors from racial discrimination.
