State legislative staffer gets $310K for retaliation
Adriana Ruelas was the legislative director for a now-former senator, Tony Mendoza, D-Buena Park. In 2017, she and two other staffers in the office told the Senate human resources department that Mendoza had been harassing a young intern in the Senate Fellows program. All three were fired at that meeting.




A legislative staffer has settled her retaliation claim with the California Senate for $310,000.
