ABA president calls for end to personal attacks against judges and prosecutors

The comments came amid growing concerns about the intervention of Justice Department officials and President Donald J. Trump in politically sensitive cases.

American Bar Association President Judy Perry Martinez defended the judiciary and prosecutors on Monday during remarks to the ABA House of Delegates, the association’s policy-making body, on the final day of the ABA midyear meeting.

The comments came amid growing concerns about the intervention of Justice Department officials and comments by President Donald J. Trump in politically sensitive cases.
