New DOJ section to investigate illegal citizenship

The Department of Justice is ramping up efforts to crack down on terrorists, war criminals and other fraudsters believed to have obtained naturalization under false pretenses.

In 2016, shortly before President Barack Obama left office, an investigation by the inspector general for the Department of Homeland Security found the government might have granted citizenship to at least 858 people who had been ordered deported under another identity.
