Disbarred Bakersfield attorney indicted on client fraud charges
A federal grand jury has indicted disbarred attorney Heather Stanley of Bakersfield on charges she defrauded her clients of more than $3.9 million, U.S. attorney McGregor W. Scott announced Thursday.




A federal grand jury has indicted disbarred attorney Heather Stanley of Bakersfield on charges she defrauded her clients of more than $3.9 million, U.S. attorney McGregor W. Scott announced Thursday. Stanley has been charged with five counts of wire fraud, two counts of mail fraud, and one count of attempt to evade and defeat assessment of a tax, according to court documents. She risks 20 years in prison for the wire and mail fraud charges and fines of up to $250,000....
