Attorney in expletive tirade gets opposing counsel’s fee request halved
A federal judge awarded less than half of requested attorney fees to Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP after opposing counsel in an insurance dispute was fired by his clients following an expletive-laden email tirade. The judge, who had promised to try to get the fired attorney removed from the legal profession, appeared to take his side in the final order, agreeing with him that Sheppard Mullin had billed excessively.
