Closed courtrooms, continued trials, telephoned hearings throughout the state

Los Angeles County, the nation’s largest court system, has announced four changes in five days. Tchanges are the fourth in five days for the nation’s largest court system. Court officials said the situation is evolving and more changes are likely. he situation is evolving and more changes are likely.

While Los Angeles and other major counties in California have shut down courthouses to deal with the coronavirus outbreak, others have suspended just civil jury trials, encouraged continuances, arranged for telephonic appearances or limited operations in other ways.

In addition to Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties closed their courts.
