AG, truckers want Southern District case stayed while 9th Circuit weighs in
“A stay would best promote judicial efficiency and conserve the parties’ resources by deferring discovery and further District Court proceedings until the Ninth Circuit provides guidance about the relevant issues in this case,” read the joint motion filed by the plaintiffs and defendants Monday.




Attorney General Xavier Becerra and the California Trucking Association jointly asked a federal trial judge to halt a challenge to Assembly Bill 5, California's gig worker law, until the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals takes action on an appeal by Becerra.
The attorney general is arguing the trial court wrongly granted the truckers a preliminary injunction against the labor law in January.
