State high court writ seeks partial overturn of LA County court closure

A Long Beach toxic torts attorney said Los Angles County’s presiding judge closed the courts without making a constitutional finding that the action was necessary.

The closure of most civil court proceedings in Los Angeles County deprived litigants of their due process rights and occurred without making a constitutional finding that the action was necessary, a Long Beach attorney said in a petition to the state Supreme Court on Friday.
