Judge tentatively halts Los Angeles from impounding ‘bulky items’ left in public

The ruling comes amid a separate court action that attorneys hope will quell future litigation over homelessness.

A federal judge tentatively enjoined the City of Los Angeles from impounding personal property deemed to large to be left in public areas.

The move from Judge Dale S. Fischer comes amid ongoing efforts by her Central District of California colleague Judge David O. Carter to build a shelter network in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
