Postmates seeks preliminary injunction in suit with couriers

“In the midst of a global pandemic — Postmates has sued its own couriers to prevent them from arbitrating for the labor and employment protections the law affords them,” Travis Lenkner, managing partner at Keller Lenkner who represents the couriers, said in an email Monday.

Postmates has asked a federal court for a preliminary injunction to stop a mass arbitration effort by 10,356 of the company's couriers, arguing the law that makes these efforts possible is both unconstitutional and preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act.
