Wave of class actions against Zoom Video Communications could test novel legal theories

A series of class actions have been filed by consumers and shareholders against Zoom, a popular teleconferencing and video communication platform that millions now rely on as stay-home orders remain intact amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several class actions accuse Zoom Video Communications of sharing information with third parties, a development legal experts say will prompt courts to grapple with the details of California’s new Consumer Privacy Act.
