US judge denies halt to water pumping for farms

A lawsuit in the Eastern District Court of California alleged a program to supply more water to Central Valley agriculture would endanger salmon.

A federal judge in Fresno has rejected a temporary restraining order sought by environmental groups seeking to stop increased water pumping for farms, which they say endangers salmon.

U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd wrote in his order Tuesday the plaintiffs failed to show they were likely to prevail on the merits of their claims or that they would suffer irreproachable harm requiring an extraordinary remedy. $95
