Law schools freeze hires, cancel travel and construction

UC Hastings College of the Law Dean David L. Faigman is asking companies and law firms that have committed to taking students for summer internships to follow through on their commitments.

Law school revenue, along with overall university funding, is falling and budgets are being reassessed to account for cancellation of summer sessions and university extension programs and the possible delay of fall student intakes.

Schools have announced hiring freezes, cancellation of travel and suspension of construction.
