Attorneys want to know why civil matters can’t proceed telephonically in Los Angeles County as the nearly month-long shutdown of the courts is endangering small and medium-sized firms on both sides of the bar, and the chances of trial are months away.
LA courts won’t start ramping up until after June 22, attorneys were told in a telephonic briefing Friday, and they should not expect trials until August or September.
