State high court returns juvenile release matter to LA court
The justices voted to transfer the matter to the 2nd District, which is to issue an order to show cause “returnable before the Los Angeles County Superior Court,” according to docket entry. The superior court is to expedite the show cause order, “and any hearings should be scheduled as soon as practicable,” justices ordered.




A writ petition seeking the release of most incarcerated youth in Los Angeles County will be considered in superior court under a state Supreme Court order issued Wednesday.
Justices discussed the case at their weekly status conference after implementing fast briefing deadlines that indicated they were prioritizing what attorneys described as an "extraordinary" request.
