Lawyers helping small businesses navigating CARES Act funding requirements

Confusion around who qualifies for funding and how to get application materials together have prevented many small business owners from taking advantage of the resources available to them, attorneys say.

As government agencies continue to roll out emergency funding for companies impacted by COVID-19, small businesses have widely reported trouble accessing the aid. Enter the Bay Area Small/Social Enterprise Task Force: a group of legal, financial, and nonprofit professionals that aims to guide small businesses through emergency resources -- many of which attorneys say are too complex for the average small business owner to understand.
