State high court orders California’s first online bar exam

As a trial, the court also directed that the first-year law students exam, the so-called “baby bar,” should be conducted online in June. The bar has until May 11 to come up with a plan on how to move forward with the two exams.

For the first time, the California bar exam will be administered online, the state Supreme Court said Monday as it ordered the State Bar to postpone the July test until September 9 and 10.

The court told the bar to work with the National Conference of Bar Examiners to offer the Multistate Bar Exam, the multiple-choice portion of the test, online.
