Jurors’ virus concerns loom large in postponement of criminal trial

The defendant, an alleged Russian hacker, prosecutors and a U.S. judge all favored resuming the trial on May 4, but 11 of 16 jurors said they preferred to wait until shelter-in-place orders are lifted.

SAN FRANCISCO -- With 11 of 16 jurors reluctant to appear in court next week, a federal judge again postponed the trial of an alleged Russian hacker accused of stealing millions of usernames and passwords.

Proceedings for Yevgeniy Nikulin will resume June 1, U.S. District Judge William Alsup ruled Tuesday.
