LA judge stops Norwalk from prohibiting virus-related hotel relief

The decision by Judge Samantha P. Jessner is the latest judicial setback for opponents of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Project Roomkey plan to move 15,000 homeless people into hotels amid the pandemic.

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge on Tuesday temporarily stopped the City of Norwalk from revoking a hotel's conditional use permit or enforcing a new city ordinance barring it from Covid-19 or homeless-related housing.
