Supreme Court refuses to block $75M payout to undocumented immigrants

The petition, filed April 22 by Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Dhillon Law group and the Center for American Liberty, said the payments, authorized by Gov. Gavin Newsom under his emergency powers, would be an unconstitutional “gift of public funds.”

The California Supreme Court denied an emergency writ petition Wednesday that sought to block $75 million in state payments to people in the country illegally who are impacted by the economic shutdown.
