Latinos were sold predatory loans for solar panels, suit says

"These loans were built to target minority communities and get them out of their houses," said plaintiffs' attorney Alison Cardova of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy.

Green energy financing and construction companies used a state program to entice mostly Spanish-speaking homeowners into taking out predatory loans to install solar panels, according to a proposed class action filed Monday.

"These loans were built to target minority communities and get them out of their houses," said plaintiffs' attorney Alison Cardova of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy.
