SF, Hastings reach tentative deal to clear most tents from Tenderloin

The city of San Francisco reached a tentative settlement Friday with UC Hastings College of the Law and business owners in the Tenderloin neighborhood, promising to remove most of the tents where homeless people camp on sidewalks.

The city of San Francisco reached a tentative settlement Friday with UC Hastings College of the Law and business owners in the Tenderloin neighborhood, promising to remove most of the tents where homeless people camp on sidewalks.

According to the tentative agreement, the city will remove up to 300 tents and encampments -- approximately 70% of those compiled in a census taken earlier this month -- by July 20.
