Bar pushing October remote exam, say deans; agency says it’s up to the court

An assessment this Friday of the online “baby bar” for first-year students in non-accredited schools is expected to provide needed details on any technical problems a remote bar exam could face if it is conducted online.

The State Bar appeared set on an October online bar exam, then backtracked somewhat during a meeting with state Supreme Court and law school representatives, some of the deans reported afterward. The bar had a different assessment of the gathering, saying the court itself is leaning toward a remote exam.
