Black couple sue Nike after being accused of basketball theft

A Black couple has sued Nike Inc. for racial profiling stemming from a July 2019 incident in which a store employee accused them of stealing a $12 basketball and subsequently alerted law enforcement.

A Black couple falsely accused of stealing a basketball from the Nike store in Santa Monica sued the company, alleging employees racially profiled and called the police on them.
