Michigan win for insurance company in business interruption case cited in California

San Diego partner Peter Klee of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, who defends insurance companies, said, "It was a good day for the insurance industry," with respect to two important issues.

In one of the first coronavirus-related court rulings among scores of cases filed by restaurants and others seeking business interruption coverage, a Michigan circuit court judge granted summary judgment to an insurance company, potentially signaling a blow to similar lawsuits.
