Bar exam results expected mid-January

The bar is working to expedite the grading time line, it said in a “frequently asked questions” posting to explain the procedures for the state’s first online exam. It also gives information on scoring, breaks, technological requirements and in-person exam logistics for those who have extenuating circumstances.

Those who take the State Bar exam this fall can expect results by mid-January, according to the agency's web postings this week, but lawyers said questions about late results and anti-cheating software could pose problems for firms looking to hire new attorneys.

Exam results for the now twice-delayed July exam usually are available in early November.
