Few COVID personal injury lawsuits have been filed, database indicates
The monitored liability lawsuits differ from business interruption cases challenging insurers over government shutdown orders, which take up the lion’s share of total lawsuits. Those lawsuits, along with civil rights cases challenging stay-at-home orders and prisoner-release petitions, make up nearly 60% of total cases, according to the database.




Personal injury lawsuits make up only 4.7% of claims related to COVID-19, suggesting a tidal wave of suits over contracting the virus has not taken place, according to a national database that is tracking litigation.
