LA County supervisors put charter change on ballot to re-purpose funds

If approved by voters, up to 1,000 law enforcement jobs would be impacted, according to the county’s chief operating officer.

A contentious charter amendment that aims to permanently funnel at least 10% of Los Angeles County's unrestricted annual revenues to social service programs and alternatives to incarceration will be on the November ballot.
