US high court grants OC jails a stay from implementing more COVID-19 procedures

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has twice denied requests from the county to immediately lift the district court orders.

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, stayed a district court's order for the Orange County sheriff to implement certain safety measures to protect jail inmates from the coronavirus until the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals weighs in on the county's petition for a writ of certiorari, if it is timely sought.
