Bankruptcy judge will grant narrow order in case related to LA litigation

Federal prosecutors from the Central District of California argued for the complete stay of two proceedings involving Paul O. Paradis, a New York lawyer who was hired by the city of Los Angeles to settle litigation into massive billing errors.

An Arizona bankruptcy judge on Monday declined the federal government's request to stay bankruptcy proceedings of an attorney tied to a criminal investigation of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, instead ruling he was inclined to fashion a narrow order.
