Bar dues would fall under annual bill passed by Senate Judiciary Committee

The bill authored by Assemblyman Mark Stone, D-Scott’s Valley, also would require the bar to have open meetings when discussing the administration of the exam.

Active attorneys would pay $34 less in annual dues under the annual State Bar licensing fee bill passed unanimously without debate by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

AB 3362, which now heads to the Senate Appropriations Committee, would drop active bar dues to $395. Inactive licensing would drop $5.60 to $97.40. The voluntary fee would see a $5 increase.
