DOJ case against Yale might be bad sign for Proposition 16

The Department of Justice sent a letter to Yale University on Thursday, saying that the school discriminated against Asian-American and white applicants in its admissions processes in violation of Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

With the Department of Justice targeting universities' admissions practices, proposed affirmative action legislation could bring lawsuits against California schools, legal scholars speculated.
