Some California firms are beating lower expectations, with one partially restoring salary cuts
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP on Tuesday trimmed by half its 12% salary reduction for associates, most staff attorneys and special counsel. As of Aug. 31 and through the end of the year, their pay cuts will be 6%.




Boosted by the economic strength of California technology and life sciences companies and some aggressive steps to trim costs, many law firms are reporting better-than-expected results and in some cases are partially reversing attorney pay cuts imposed due to the court shutdowns related to the COVID-19 virus.
