Virginia Company Funds lawsuit against LA mayor, claims utility shutoff order is unconstitutional

LA's mayor said if police reported and verified repeated occurrences of large gatherings at a property, they were authorized to provide notice and initiate the process of asking the Department of Water and Power to shut off service at the residence within 48 hours.

A Virginia-based boutique firm that says it is devoted to fighting abuse of government authority has funded a lawsuit against Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti over his announcement the city would shut off electricity and water with 48 hours notice to any residential property where large gatherings are repeatedly taking place in violation of his social distancing orders
