Law deans praise lower bar passage score, say it will not affect school admissions standards
In July, the court announced that it would lower the cut score from 1440 to 1390, starting from the October examination. Many law deans had lobbied for the change, saying it would lead to a more diverse legal profession.




Law school deans expressed appreciation for the Assembly Judiciary Committee's decision on Wednesday to urge the state Supreme Court to lower the new bar exam passage score retroactively, and they also said the lower standard for membership in the bar would not lead to reduced test scores or tuition payments for law school admission.
