State Bar comes under fire for retracting job offer to Black woman

At issue were allegations that Fredericka McGee, a longtime legislative attorney, was offered the job in July, only to have the offer rescinded.

The State Bar Board of Trustees got an earful Friday from supporters of a longtime legislative attorney they say may have been improperly denied a job as the bar’s executive director. The public comment period was then cut short after Zoom meeting’s chat function was filled up with racist comments.
