State to appeal ruling against Monsanto Roundup label

U.S. District Judge William Shubb in Sacramento found there’s not enough evidence to require the Bayer-owned company to include a warning label and that doing so would be compelled speech in violation of the First Amendment.

Attorney General Xavier Becerra will appeal a federal judge's ruling prohibiting the state from forcing Monsanto to put a cancer warning label on its Roundup weedkiller.
