Mall retailers sue LA County over closure orders
Retailers located inside a Torrance shopping center sued Los Angeles County in federal court, claiming the order allowing only certain businesses to reopen is discriminatory and arbitrary. Gov. Gavin Newsom's Aug. 28 statewide order says counties are allowed to reopen indoor shopping centers with 25 percent capacity at maximum while common areas and food courts are closed. However, Los Angeles County hasn't' allowed indoor stores inside malls to reopen, unlike other counties that are on the same risk tier classification zone like Alameda, San Bernardino and Alameda counties.




Retailers in a Torrance shopping mall are challenging Los Angeles County's mandate that they remain shut while other businesses have been allowed to reopen.
