Governor Newsom expands California Family Rights Act
The governor approved a historic expansion of the California Family Right Act earlier this month when he signed into law Senate Bill 1383.

Governor Gavin Newsom approved a historic expansion of the California Family Right Act on Sept. 17 when he signed into law Senate Bill 1383. The bill expands coverage to employers with as few as five employees, and further expands what are considered qualifying events.
