San Diego lawyer wins $235M drug patent verdict

The Delaware case attracted multiple amicus briefs and — if allowed to stand — would have broad implications by making it easy for generic drugmakers to avoid infringement lawsuits.

In a major victory in a patent infringement suit, Fish & Richardson PC litigator Juanita R. Brooks persuaded a federal appellate panel Friday to reinstate a $235.5 million verdict for client GlaxoSmithKline LLC against Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc.
